As Japans fourth largest pharmaceutical Company, our client offers a long term commitment in providing innovative healthcare for patients, their families and carers around the world. This company is going through a period of exciting growth and willshortly be moving to our European Knowledge Centre in Hatfield.

This client has an interesting mix of products for you to support from market leaders to an orphan drug. There is also a healthy development pipeline with, for example, products inneurology and oncology entering Phase III. You will be responsible for one or more designated product(s). This will include full integration into the medical-marketing team, including active contribution to the monthly medical-marketing meetings,development and delivery of training packages and copy approval within the ABPI Code of Practice.

The product specialist role is demanding, varied and business focused. There is a dynamic interactive relationship with marketing, informed by a Corporate objective to observe the highest legal and ethical standards in business activities. Colleagues will look to you for expertise and knowledge of you product and its therapeutic area. Product training is a significant element of the product specialist role - developing, writing and delivery training packages to the sales force and others.

You will also participate in the day to day enquiry handling (including adverse events and out of hours cover) on all products for external (e.g. HCPs, patients) and internal (e.g. sales reps) customers. The role also includes current awareness activities and responsibility to maintain departmental Q&A and bibliographic databases for your product(s).

As you would expect in a small-mid size pharma company you will be expected to work in a dynamic environment in which you will be responsible for achieving a range of marketing, medical and general departmental objectives.

Qualifications/education:

Pharmacy or life sciences degree - essential. Any of the following additional qualifications would be beneficial: Information Science, clinical pharmacy or further relevant life sciences qualification. Pharmacists - Relevant experience in hospital clinical pharmacy or medicines information, and applicable experience in a Pharmaceutical Company Medical Information department. Life Science graduates - Relevant experience in a Pharmaceutical Company Medical Information department. Previous Marketing and Medical Support role. Good knowledge of literature searching and information storage and retrieval techniques
