Introduction
Our client is seeking key talent to lead their medical affairs team in Germany. This company has seen steady growth since its inception 20 years ago. It is known for its drive, flexibility and brave approach to drug development. This new role is crucial to the continued international development of our client, and they will only be considering candidates with impeccable medical affairs experience and who can demonstrate the contributions they have made to successful drug development at previous companies. Our client is seeking an individual who has the knowledge to map future local issues in drug development^and build a team to respond to these issues before the competition.
Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the medical and scientific activities within the Local Operating Company (LOC), ensuring alignment and coordination of^the R&D functional input.
Maximize our client's value proposition of on-market and pipeline products through effective management and delivery of all LOC medical and scientific activities across therapeutic areas.
Be the key our client's LOC spokesperson to external and internal bodies on medical and scientific issues related to our clients' products.
Lead the development of medical strategy, medical affairs, medical education and local research activities in the LOC.
Maximize market access opportunities in the LOC.
Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Interaction, in conjunction with the our client's Clinical Development and Medical Affairs (CDMA) and Local Operating Company (LOC) matrix
Build relationships with identified top tier Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) per Therapeutic Area.
Oversee the MSLs implementing the LOC Medical Affairs strategy and plan
Ensure that the local MSL activities are in-line with local regulations and codes of practice for the territory.
Essential Skills &^Qualification
Completion of a MD graduate level degree.
Proficient in German.
Proficient in English language.
Typically would have sufficient commercial experience to provide medical/scientific support in a senior medical function at pharmaceutical company or related industry.
Strong business awareness, financial literacy and excellent managerial track record.
Comprehensive knowledge of drug clinical development process, policies and regulations
