Introduction
Our client is a biopharmaceutical company, which develops, manufactures and commercialises immunobiotics, consisting of vaccines and therapeutics that assist the body's immune system to prevent or treat disease. Their products target infectious diseases and other medical conditions that have resulted in significant unmet or underserved public health needs. The current commercial product portfolio includes several compounds in Phase I and Phase II clinical development, plus two vaccine candidates in preclinical development.

Summary of duties
Working closely with the VP Business Development, identify and develop commercial and academic in-licensing, out-licensing and M&A business opportunities. Propose negotiation strategy and provide reports and presentations to Senior and Executive management. Provide leadership and co-ordination for defined transactions or business projects and drive projects through to completion. Provide line management of two BD staff to ensure the BD group objectives are met.

Qualifications needed
Educated to at least degree level or equivalent. A higher degree (PhD or MBA) is an advantage.
Has a science background or is familiar with science related work. Knowledge of vaccine or otherbiologic drug development an advantage.
At least 5-7 years experience in industry (biotech/pharma), in a business development role within a busy commercial/business environment.
Proven track record in negotiating a wide range of biotech/pharma in-licensing, out-licensing and M&A transactions.
Sound knowledge of valuation methodologies and deal metrics
